2015 NGSS Summer Academy
Where are you in transitioning your instruction to meet the Next Generation Science Standards? Have you tried to implement some lessons or maybe even a unit this past year? Are you feeling like you need some in-depth training and would appreciate the ability to collaborate, share, and learn from others? Will you be ready for Illinois' new science assessment that will measure how well the students master NGSS?
This summer, Dr. Carol Baker, NGSS Writing Team Member, will bring together a set of teachers that have been working on implementing NGSS, and together they will deliver a week-long NGSS Academy for in-depth work on developing lessons, activities and assessments. This workshop is designed for K-12 science teachers and administrators who have at least introductory knowledge of the Next Generation Science Standards. This is an in-depth one week workshop that will give teachers experience in constructing lessons, activities and assessments that are aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards. During this week-long academy, participants will work with teachers already implementing NGSS and be able to delve deeply into all aspects of science instruction aligned with these new standards. For more details on the workshop, please download the flyer above.
Because of the nature of this workshop, space is limited so sign up soon!

This is a hands-on workshop given by experts with a deep understanding of the NGSS. Please come prepared to “dig into” the NGSS. If you have a laptop to use, consider bringing it as most materials will be developed and shared electronically. Free WiFi will be available but may be limited depending on demand.
