NGSS Level I Webinar: NGSS Primer
Did you miss our Level I Workshops and need to catch up before coming to our Level II Workshop in March or April? Are you just beginning your journey in transitioning to NGSS and don't know where to start? Do you know another teacher who is looking for more information about NGSS? We will be offering evening webinar sessions which will provide you with the essential information you need to begin implementing NGSS.
The final version of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) has been released and states are starting adoption.
- Has your district/school started preparing for these new standards?
- Have you investigated how it may change your curriculum?
- Have you considered the Performance Expectations (PEs) and the possible impact they will have on your assessments?
This webinar is an abbreviated version of our Level I NGSS Workshop that focused on breaking down the Performance Expectations as a first step to curriculum development with NGSS. Part one of this two evening webinar will begin with an overview of the NGSS and its essential elements and an overview on how to dissect a Performance Expectation (PE). Part two will discuss NGSS and the impact on assessments and inquiry based learning in the context of NGSS PEs. Attendees will walk away with a solid start to curriculum planning and lesson design to begin implementing NGSS.
